Also known as the White Scavenger Vulture or the more comical Pharaoh’s Chicken, the Egyptian Vulture is a small species of old world vulture found throughout Southwestern Europe, Northern Africa and India. Like their other vulture brethren Egyptian Vultures feed primarily on carrion but are known to take live prey and eggs when given the chance. They are also avid tool users and are known to break eggs with pebbles and use twigs to roll up wool for their nests. They are currently listed as endangered as pesticides and habitat degradation have caused their populations to decline rapidly.
